COPAL RESIN

COPAL | Protium copal
Copal is an aromatic tree resin used throughout Mesoamerica. When burned, Copal produces a sweet, earthy and often pine-like aroma. It can be used for the purification of a person or space, for connecting to spirit and was often burned by the Maya as an offering to the gods and goddesses. The Maya believed that copal was helpful for the treatment of all the spiritual diseases including; Susto (Fright), Tristeza (Sadness), Invidia (Envy) and Pesar (Grief). Copal is used to cleanse and uplift the auric body and clear energy blockages. It also provides protection and is used for blessings. Also used to cleanse crystals and areas at home or work or during sweat lodge ceremonies, as indigenous people still do. Copal is used for new beginnings, clearing the old and bringing in the new order. Use it to raise your vibration and bring in love.

Resin is traditionally burned on charcoal disks.
